By Yeshe Choesang, WN Correspondent Dharamshala: 20 November 2008-The Former Kalon Tripa (Fomer prime minister) and brother of His Holiness the Dalai Lama Gyalo Thondup gave his first-hand account in a press conference today of the late and former Chinese Chairman Deng Xiapping's invitation to Tibetans to discuss all issues except independence in the late 1970's. Thondup told his story in response to denials from Chinese executive Vice-Minister of the Central United Front Work Department Zhu Weiqun that such an invitation was extended. On November 10 Zhu told a Japanese reporter, "It is a falsehood made by Gyari and is a complete distortion of Deng Ziaoping's statements." Thondup responded...
